Protocol Officer, Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Agency Headquarters at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. In this position I successfully supported the Commander, Vice Commander and command section principals in handling all aspects of high-level visits from White House, congressional, federal, state, and local senior government officials, to include senior military officials and foreign dignitaries. I coordinated conferences, tours, ceremonies and social functions initiated within the command and those tasked by the offices of the President of the United States, Secretary of Defense, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Secretary of the Air Force and Chief of Staff of the Air Force.
Senior Advisor to the Chairman, Texas of Association of African American Chambers of Commerce (TAAACC), Austin, Texas. I was responsible for tracking, analyzing, and providing advice on the full range of operational and policy issues of the organization to the Chairman, in support of more than 200,000 businesses and the second largest economy in America valued at $1.6 trillion. My specific responsibilities fell broadly under 6 categories: (I) Analysis and Guidance on Strategy and Policy Issues, (II) Operational Analysis and Monitoring, (III) Liaison/Internal Coordination, (IV) Administration, (V) Local, State & International Business and (VI) Minority, Women, Veteran, Disabled Veteran and Small Business Ownership.
Project Manager, St. Peter-St. Joseph’s Children’s Home (St. PJ’s), San Antonio, Texas. I was responsible for ensuring that the project team completes the task. I developed the project plan with the team and managed the team’s performance. I was also responsible for securing acceptance and approval of deliverables from the Project Sponsor and Stakeholders. I was responsible for communication; including status reporting, risk management, escalation of issues that cannot be resolved in the team and in general. I made sure the projects were delivered in budget, on schedule and within scope. I was also responsible for the $16 million, 20 acre campus facilities infrastructure and information technology.
Chairman, Rise Organization, Texas, The RISE Organization was established by Marie Ferdinand, a First-Round Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) draft pick and former San Antonio Stars player to help the Bexar County youths in grades 3-12 develop sportsmanship, healthy eating habits, instilling positive goals and values regarding teamwork. We utilize basketball as a fundamentals tool to teach at-risk students valuable life skills to be applied to their daily life experiences. The RISE Organization also encourages youths to take education serious and complete high school, getting into college and graduate in order to secure a successful future as an adult.
