Gerald d. Givens, Jr Action - Impact - Results

Welcome! I am Gerald Givens Jr., an advocate, organizer, and helper committed to making a positive impact in the community. My work spans various fields, including gun violence prevention, advocacy for African-American communities, business opportunities and empowering survivors of trauma. Join me on this journey to create meaningful change. I spend a lot of time pondering how to get teams in sync, aligned, and functioning as one, headed in the right direction. That's what I gained from my military experience. The idea that a group of people working together as a team is more potent than a group of individuals.

I had the honor of serving in the US Air Force for 20 years. Following my military service, I embarked on impactful roles at St. PJ's Children's Home, The Texas Association of African American Chambers of Commerce, Activate Good, North Carolinians Against Gun Violence, and Raleigh Boots On The Ground. These experiences allowed me to sharpen my skills in taking decisive action, driving meaningful impact, and achieving tangible results that changed lives.

My 2yr old cousin Isreal, who got a hold of his father's firearm on Oct 10, 2022

Losing eight family members to gun violence is an unimaginable tragedy that has profoundly shaped my life. Each loss has left a permanent mark on my heart, reminding me of the devastating toll that senseless violence takes on families and communities. Growing up in Detroit during a time when it was known as the murder capital of the United States, I witnessed firsthand how gun violence tears apart lives and dreams. These personal losses drive my commitment to advocating for change, supporting survivors, and working tirelessly to build safer communities where no one else has to endure the heartbreak I have experienced. My pain fuels my purpose, and I carry the memories of my loved ones with me in every step of this journey.

INVENTING THE FUTURE

Genuine collaboration ideas and business projects that have a positive impact on society are something I have a soft spot for. I'm open to discussing podcast chats, guest speaking, community projects, business partnerships, strategy days, or anything in between.
